Project Objectives

The Institute for Replication works to improve the credibility of science by advancing reproducibility and replicability in research. Our goals are to systematically reproduce published studies in leading journals and to facilitate, promote and generate replication and sensitivity analysis.

Our scope will evolve and expand over time. In terms of reproduction, we are focusing on the following journals: American Economic Review, American Economic Review: Insights, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Economic Policy and Macroeconomics, American Journal of Political Science, Canadian Journal of Economics, Economic Journal, Review of Economic Studies and State Politics & Policy Quarterly. We will also (non-systematically) reproduce as many studies as possible from other top outlets. Please reach out to us if you would like to help.

In terms of replication, our editorial board will focus on selecting replicators for the following journals: American Economic Review, American Economic Review: Insights, American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, Economic Policy and Macroeconomics, American Journal of Political Science, Economic Journal and Review of Economic Studies. Replications and sensitivity analysis for other outlets may also be performed and are welcomed.
